FAQS
Have questions about what it’s like to work together? Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and it makes sense to have questions before reaching out. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the questions clients often have about what therapy is like with me, how I work, and how to get started.
-
Therapy with me is grounded, thoughtful, and collaborative. I create a space where you can slow down, make sense of what’s been feeling heavy or stuck, and begin moving toward meaningful, lasting change.
That doesn’t mean rushing into the deepest parts of your story right away. I work at a pace that supports your nervous system while still helping us move toward the heart of what needs attention.
-
A strong fit usually comes down to whether you feel understood, supported, and safe enough to do honest work. If you’re looking for a therapist who is warm, engaged, and clinically intentional — someone who can help you go deeper without pushing you faster than you’re ready for — we may be a good fit.
And if it becomes clear that another provider or type of support would serve you better, I’ll tell you directly and offer referral options whenever possible.
-
I work best with clients who are ready for meaningful, honest work and who want more than surface-level coping strategies. Often, the people I work with are carrying a lot internally — stress, anxiety, trauma, overwhelm, or long-standing patterns that no longer feel sustainable — and they want a place to understand what’s underneath it all.
They may appear highly functional on the outside while internally feeling anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or stuck.
-
No. My approach is not about forcing you to share more than feels manageable. We work at a pace that respects your nervous system, your boundaries, and your readiness.
The goal is not to overwhelm you. The goal is to help you feel steady enough to do meaningful work in a way that is both safe and effective.
-
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Weekly therapy creates consistency, builds momentum, and gives us a strong foundation for the work.
As therapy progresses, we can decide together what frequency makes the most sense based on your needs, goals, and capacity.
-
After you contact me, I’ll respond with the next steps for scheduling and getting started. From there, we’ll set up an initial session where we can talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and whether working together feels like the right fit.
I aim to make the process feel clear, straightforward, and easy to navigate.
-
The first session is a chance for us to get oriented. We’ll talk about what’s been going on, what feels most important right now, and what you want help with.
It’s also a chance for you to get a sense of me and how I work. You do not need to prepare anything in advance — just come as you are.
-
Yes. EMDR is one of the approaches I use when it fits what a client is working through and supports their goals. It can be especially effective for trauma, anxiety, and experiences that continue to feel stuck in the present.
If EMDR becomes part of our work, I’ll help you understand what to expect and make sure we move in a way that feels supportive and appropriately paced.
-
No. Therapy with me is individualized and collaborative. EMDR can be a powerful tool, but it is not something I force or assume is right for everyone.
Together, we’ll determine which approach best fits your needs, goals, and nervous system.

I am in-network with Aetna, Curative, United Healthcare, Oxford, and Oscar. If you have questions about coverage, I recommend checking directly with your insurance provider so you can better understand your benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
You’re also welcome to reach out before scheduling if you’d like to confirm whether I’m in-network with your plan.
